About Me
R.Ac, Certified Medical Qi Gong Instructor & Mother
In 2013 I graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bedford, Nova Scotia, as an Acupuncturist. At the time, acupuncture wasn't regulated in the Province of Nova Scotia so I decided to seek out additional education to help prepare me for the Pan Canadian Examinations. Simultaneously I began my practice in the art of Qi Gong and a deep dive into the world of food and nutrition.
In Qi Gong, I have dedicated myself to the path of becoming a Master. My Qi Gong training is ongoing and includes the following forms; Tai Ji(Chen and Yang style), Tao Yin, Tao Yi, Eight vessels, Golden Qi Ball, 8 Brocade, Bagua, 5 Animal Qi Gong, 9 Dragons, Xing Yi, Tai Ji Fan, sitting and standing meditations as well as breath work all rooted in Taoist Alchemy. I have taught a number of students Qi Gong and continue to teach wherever I am. I believe movement is medicine and without it we begin to see decline.
After much studying in the art of acupuncture point location, supervised clinical work, TCM nutrition and biomedical sciences I finally passed my board exams in 2019 allowing me the privilege to practice anywhere in Canada. In 2020 I was practicing in the field of acupuncture for a short time before I discovered I was having a baby of my own.
I am deeply passionate about supporting women through their menses, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and menopause. I have always been fascinated and in love with the Chinese Tradition of a Golden Month, the first 40-100 days after giving birth, when a mother rests, eats and feeds her babe, under the unwavering support of her loved ones. I applied many of these ancient techniques that I have learned, on myself postpartum with the support of family, naturopaths and a doula and was floored by their results and the negative shifts that occurred when I wasn't using them. It would be a dream to create a team of female practitioners willing to support mothers postpartum since we have lost the strong family and village structures. I have centred the last several months on accumulating an abundance of information and techniques in obstetrics, fertility, gynaecology, gut health and food cures but this is not my limit.
My true passion is to support you fully on your path to becoming healthy both mentally and physically and I am eager to support all people ready and willing to live a healthier lifestyle. It brings me utmost joy to share the wisdom from these ancient practices so that we can all live long, healthy, happy lives.
